    Location: 12121 FM 1764, Santa Fe, TX 77510

    Duration: June – August (Flexible)

    Hours: 10–15 hours/week

    Compensation: Unpaid

    About Us

    The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce is an active organization dedicated to supporting local businesses, organizing community events, and promoting economic growth in our area. Our mission is to effectively serve our members by promoting economic growth and active partnerships with businesses and the community.

     

    Who We Are Looking For

    This internship is ideal for a recent high school graduate, or a student currently enrolled in college with an interest in business, communications, or community leadership to join us this summer. You do not need years of experience—just a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in improving your community.

     

    Intern Responsibilities May Include:

    • Assisting with planning and organizing summer events such as parades, vendor markets, or business networking gatherings
    • Helping with office tasks like answering phone calls and taking messages, updating member contact lists, preparing mailings, and filing reports
    • Supporting social media and website updates (posting photos, writing short captions, etc.)
    • Shadowing the Chamber Director during meetings or visits to local businesses
    • Attending community events to help with setup, coordination, and interacting with attendees
    • Taking part in creative projects like designing flyers or brainstorming new ways to engage members

     

    What You Will Learn:

    • How a Chamber of Commerce supports local businesses and economic development
    • Event planning, communication, and basic office operations
    • Professional skills such as organization, customer service, and time management
    • How to work in a real-world nonprofit/business setting
    • Exposure to local leaders and business owners for future networking

     

    Qualifications:

    • A recent high school graduate (Class of 2025)
    • Enrolled or planning to enroll at a community college
    • Friendly, reliable, and organized
    • Interested in learning about business, marketing, or public service
    • Basic computer and social media skills (Canva or Microsoft Office is a plus)
    • Must have a reliable form of transportation to the Chamber office and off-site events
